Palani temple prasad goes high-tech

The delicious handmade panchamirtham, the prasad, made of five fruit and pure sugar and sugar candy in the famous Lord Muruga temple at Palani hill shrine in Tamil Nadu, may give way to mechanised fruit mix as the temple administration plans to set up a high-tech automated plant to make it. The Panchamirtham of the Dhandayuthapani Swamy temple is famous, like the laddu of Lord Venkateshwaraswami temple of Tirupati, and is regarded as the oldest form of jam. Temple authorities said their main objective in introducing automated plants is to produce the prasadam in a hygienic condition.
